Greek teenager Stefanos Tsitsipas did not hide his joy from the way his success affects the interest in tennis in his home country. 19-year-old Cyzipas climbed to No. 39 in the world after a strong performance in recent months, mostly in Barcelona, where he reached the final.


`Many people talked about this, I gave interviews to leading Greek televisions and other media, I caught the attention of the people, there were politicians who congratulated me, I am happy with the attention to myself, ` said Zycipas. `It motivates me to perform even better and to become even more popular, I hope this will inspire more people to play tennis in Greece, ` added the young talent.


At Roland Garros, Stefanos Tsitsipas will be looking for his first win in the main Grand Slam tournament, and his rival in the first round is the Spanish qualifier Carlos Taberner. If he can record a win, Cycispas will face Dominique Team`s seventh consecutive and semi-finalist last year. The Austrian was one of Ziccipas` `victims` on his way to the Barcelona final.
