Mirra Andreeva and Diana Schneider spoke about their defeat in the Olympic finals.
In the final they lost to Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini 6:2, 1:6, 7-10.





DS: At the very beginning of the second set we gave up our serve with 40-0, and there was my mistake. I was too upset and took this moment to heart. Although it seemed 1-0, the second set, the game was just beginning. But the Italians took advantage of my condition and turned the game around. I`ll try not to let this happen again.


MA: The first match was one of the most difficult. If someone had told us at the beginning that we would be in the finals, we would not have believed it. We are upset about the loss, but we are proud of ourselves and the way we played today. The Italians are having an amazing season, they are very experienced and play a lot together. We knew it would be difficult. They handled the pressure better than us. In important moments they were faster, more aggressive, more accurate.





MA: Personally, I had thoughts from the "what if" category. . . . - What if you can`t win? What if we lead and then lose? It`s hard when you start thinking about it all. But this will probably happen more and more often when we play important matches. Silver is also good, but it`s not at all why we go onto the court.


DS: I had a lot of thoughts yesterday, after training, and during the match. I understood that technically and tactically we were superior to the Italians. I really wanted gold. I understand that many people don`t get silver even after several Olympics, but we got it the first time. But this realization that we could win really hindered us. We are still young, we are only playing the fifth match together as a couple. There are still many tournaments analyzed by 1x2 predictions blog ahead, we will use this as experience.


MA: My plan: each of us will still have four or five Olympics. And the fact that we won a medal on the first day is something special. We are proud of ourselves. And that means it`s not time for victory yet. Maybe our time will come at the next Olympics.
