Youssouf`s adoptive father Moukoko admitted that the player`s age was faked. In addition, Joseph Mukoko, who previously publicly identified himself as the footballer`s father, stated that he is not Yussuf`s biological parent.
This is revealed in an affidavit published in the ProSieben documentary Deception and Fraud - A Million Dollar Business with Football Talents. Bild journalists got acquainted with these documents.

Conscious of the criminal liability for perjury, I declare (. . . ) under oath: Youssouf Moukoko is notmy biological son and my wife Marie Mukoko. And he wasn`t born on November 20, 2004 in Yaounde, Cameroon.
I bought him a fake birth certificate in Yaounde. With this document I went to the embassy, received a passport, and then took him to Germany as my son. In fact, he was born on July 19, 2000. We made him four years younger. Now his date of birth is November 20, 2004, says the testimony of the player`s adoptive father.
